The goal was to find different functions and roles for all parts of the garment, finding flexibility in what you have.
Originally a mens suit jacket, this is now a women’s sleeveless business dress which can be converted into a layered vest. The detachable hood is made from the original sleeves and shoulder pads.
Trying to make use of every pattern piece of a 1700s pierrot jacket, I created something that still has the essence of the original pattern.

A cotton-wool blend vest with a smocked back.
100% wool vest.

A prom dress followed from a pattern by Oscar de la Renta
This flannel piece originated from a pre-made pattern but slightly altered.
This was also followed by a pattern to imitate Belle from “Beauty and the Beast”.

A white satin jacket with puffed sleeves and laced applique.
Delicate white lace in the form of a vest. The pink satin bow adds as the closure as well as design.

A simple cotton tank with a personal “Asian Persuasion”.
A gray pinstriped dress with sheer, pink, gathered sides.
A long sleeved jacket with hook and eye and large button closures and a large large fur collar.
To the left is a turquoise top with a gathered deep opening in the front and the back. The skirt is constructed with gathered tulle and draped braids of tulle.
Light chiffon and lined with satin. This design did start from a mass pattern, but had been altered by using laced appliqués.
A well lined corduroy jacket with a printed Fleur de lis on the back.

A green jersey with open knit sides. The armholes, neckline, and sides are finished with yellow elastic.
