Project: Reconstruct/Deconstruct

The goal was to find different functions and roles for all parts of the garment, finding flexibility in what you have.

Originally a mens suit jacket, this is now a women’s sleeveless business dress which can be converted into a layered vest. The detachable hood is made from the original sleeves and shoulder pads.

Trying to make use of every pattern piece of a 1700s pierrot jacket, I created something that still has the essence of the original pattern.

Altered t-shirts showing multiple ways to wear a t-shirt.

These are two of some of my first creations in 2003.
The top displays my curiosity of layering tulle, netting, and polyester. The skirt is pleated from a checkered cotton with a jersey waistband.
